The Dingman Center Offers Help For Emerging Growth Moguls!

All Moguls that consider themselves to be "emerging growth oriented", must at some point seek outside financing.

That is to say, financing that's not generated just from company profits ... or your own pocketbook.

The very early stage start-up rounds of financing usually go something like this:

Your Own Money

You're not yet into seeking other people's money!

Friends, Family and Fools

This is people that know and believe in you ... or wish they hadn't!

Bootstrapping ... if the company is actually making some profits

This applies especially to small seasoned firms that want to enter high-growth mode

A Little Bank Financing

Not an option for most early stage emerging growth firms. But it might be for those able and willing to fork over their house equity, their reproductive organs, and their first born ... all to be held as collateral, you know, just in case!

But at some point, in order to achieve true emerging growth mogul status, you must seek significant capital in the form of angel or venture financing.

So where do you go to prepare for and to secure such a pot-o-gold?

That's where The Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship comes in.

The Dingman Center is located on the main campus of The University of Maryland in College Park, MD. The center has been in existence for over 20 years.

In that time they've helped Start-up Moguls and other emerging growth Moguls to raise millions in early stage financing.

Asher Epstein is the Managing Director of The Dingman Center.

I interviewed Asher for The Looney Executive Mid-Atlantic Emerging Growth Series.

Asher, a former entrepreneur himself, has practical experience in being an upstart Mogul and raising capital.

In our discussion, he shares some of his insight about how to demonstrate a credible biz plan to potential investors.

Demonstrating A Credible Biz Plan

  • Identify the problem
  • Identify market for the problem
  • Identify why your solution is better
  • Demonstrate a credible management team
  • Demonstrate why your opportunity is worthwhile for the investor

And there's a lot more to our discussion!
